Ukrainian authorities have declared the start of large-scale manufacturing for an innovative domestically developed defensive UAV to enhance its air defences. Three initial producers have started production, with an additional eleven getting ready to establish production lines, Ukrainian military officials stated on Friday.

'Octopus' Technology Tested in Battlefield Conditions

These UAVs will be based on a nationally created system known as “Octopus” designed to intercept Shahed drones. This technology underwent testing in combat and proved effective “at night, under jamming and at low altitudes,” the ministry stated. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set an ambitious goal of producing up to 1,000 defensive drones each day.
