The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a major surprise for the Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' mantra that draws so many people into the NFL
That result could have created things up for the New England Patriots to move back into a top spot they used to occupy, with a schedule that gives them an edge over their 8-2 rivals
Over in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to set up a monster clash next week, while our top performer is pursuing milestones as well as the Most Valuable Player award
Analysis - Simply an Off Day for Buffalo?
Was it just an emotional letdown from defeating Kansas City last week or a deeper issue? That's the question for the Buffalo team to address
The Bills had secured seven victories in a consecutive games against the Dolphins but were second best from the beginning as the Miami team ran out 30-13 winners in an eye-opening outcome - and performance
MVP Josh Allen only got the team's opening first down in the third period and first points in the fourth - admittedly Miami had ten days to get ready but it was still a massive egg laid by one of the NFL's top offences
Tua Tagovailoa threw two touchdowns but rusher De'Von Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 combined yards and two scores
Bottling up the league's best running game was crucial too, with James Cook and teammates recording just 86 yards, their lowest of the year and slightly more than half their 161.5-yard average
Additionally there were the three critical turnovers, and the two from Josh Allen in particular. An interception in the end zone meaning a nine-minute possession yielded no points, and his fourth-quarter fumble that the Dolphins converted to a touchdown just later
It was classic 'previous Bills teams' as they shot themselves in the foot, getting into a hole on defense and Allen attempting to overcompensate to rescue his squad out of it - not the calm, disciplined, balanced Bills we've seen this year
Miami have served up a bit of everything this season so the jury's out on if this is the start of something, but for the Bills they'll require an instant response in a tough game against Tampa Bay next week as the New England are sneaking into a nice lead at the top of the American Football Conference East
Spotlight - Patriots See Path to Unexpected First Place
Regarding the Patriots, they're one of three eight and two teams in the NFL, all American Football Conference sides, but could they be the best?
You can pick holes in the Patriots, Denver and the Colts actually for dominating the lesser sides, with only five of their total twenty-four victories achieved against teams with a winning record - and one of those was the Colts defeating the Broncos
The Broncos defeated the reigning champion Eagles in Philly and are kings of the fourth-quarter while Indianapolis can ride Taylor, but the Patriots adding Sunday's victory in Tampa Bay to their prime time win in Buffalo seems like a statement
Their pair of losses came in new head coach Vrabel's initial three games, with seven straight victories, similar to the Broncos, from that point - but taking down Baker Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a week off to get ready was huge
Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials won't go away, and he certainly earns credit for courage after taking some savage hits in Tampa but hanging in there to guide his side to success
The defense is solid and rookie running back Henderson burst onto the scene on game day with 147 rushing yards and two exhilerating touchdowns of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - establishing himself as just the fifth ball carrier to exceed 22mph this year on his first score
Although you can argue who 'the top team' is technically, the Pats should be favorites to finish with the top record due to their remaining opponents - which includes just one game against a winning team, albeit a huge one against Buffalo
Traveling to Baltimore is challenging too, but the Broncos have it even tougher in the AFC West with the Kansas City to play twice, the Chargers (who could also compete for first place but face the same problem) and additionally the Packers on the schedule
The Indianapolis also face the Kansas City, and have the Seahawks, San Francisco and two games with the 5-4 Jacksonville to face. There is a considerable distance to go but the door is available for a shock top seed in the AFC
Coming Up - Los Angeles and Seattle Prepare for Week 11 Showdown
Both squads with strong arguments to be better than all of the three 8-2 sides are National Football Conference West rivals the Seahawks and Los Angeles, who both put up 40 burgers to go to 7-2 ahead of next week's major game between the pair in LA
They've both secured four victories in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Stafford and Darnold playing at an high standard (although Darnold had turnover issues on game day) with top receivers, and defenses giving up under 20 points a contest
Each could easily be undefeated as well - especially the Los Angeles as their two defeats occurred in extra time against the 49ers and then that agonising loss in Philadelphia when they had a game-winning field goal with the final play blocked and run back by the Philadelphia for a score
Seattle were also defeated to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in week one, before falling to the last kick of the game against the Tampa Bay - so they're genuinely among the best sides in the league
The upcoming game on Sunday could be the best of the year so far
Top Performer - Jonathan Taylor
Jonathan Taylor could be on for a record season after his incredible display in Germany - running for 244 rushing yards, scoring three touchdowns and contributing an additional forty-two {receiving yards
